Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is taking applications for a Product Design Internship based in Mechanical Engineering at the IDEA Center, our Research & Development facility in Carthage, MO. We look for highly motivated students who value teamwork, innovation, product design, and attention to detail.

The internship involves working collaboratively and creatively on challenging projects within a dynamic team environment. Internship activities can run the gamut of a product lifecycle: exploration, design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. You will work with engineering mentors based on your ability, skills, and interests. Our interns are expected to roll up their sleeves and jump in from day one - some have even been included on patents.

Qualified candidates will be contacted when openings become available.

Requirements

  • Major in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 40 credit hours or more towards Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in 3D modeling, including SolidWorks, Inventor, Pro/E, etc.
  • Student design project experience a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
