To pursue a career as a development coordinator, you need a high school diploma or equivalent and familiarity with the non-profit sector. Some employers prefer candidates with administrative, event planning, or customer service experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Development Coordinator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Development Coordinator, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in fundraising or nonprofit administration, typically backed by a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Familiarity with donor management systems (such as Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce), event planning software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are commonly required.
