Job description

Looking to join a passionate team dedicated to developing and manufacturing life-saving biopharmaceuticals? Avid Bioservices is a leading clinical and commercial biologics CDMO focused on creating innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients and improve patient outcomes.
Your Role:
The Research Associate, Process Development Downstream will provide laboratory support for Process Development by assisting in the downstream process and/or method development. The Research Associate may be assigned various tasks within the department and outside the department as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in downstream process development and routine purification of antibodies and proteins. Activities include but are not limited to buffer formulation development, buffer preparation, chromatography method development and execution, and filtration process development and operation.
  • Assist in performing in-process and/or routine analytical assays to support downstream development effort. Assays will include protein concentration by A280, and HPLC assays.
  • Execute a process involving chromatography skid, filtration setup, and intermediate testing instruments with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in scale up and process/tech transfer of buffer preparation and downstream process.
  • Compile, analyze data, and write reports, which will be presented in Process Development group meetings or to clients as needed.
  • Experience in High throughput technologies, lab automation and/or process intensification would be advantageous, but not necessary.
  • Evaluate new technologies and/or products under guidance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in a Biological Science.
  • 1-2 years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a full-time onsite position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise stated by Supervisor. The employee must also, if instructed, have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends when necessary.
Compensation:
We offer competitive compensation packages for this role, including a base salary, performance-based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
The compensation range for this role is $58,400 - $73,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer opportunities for career growth and development as well as a supportive and inclusive work environment.

The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
