ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an analytical and motivated Associate or Senior Associate to join our team and support the Head of Corporate Finance. This individual will play a key role in evaluating and executing strategic and financial initiatives, including financing activities, investment opportunities, joint ventures, and M&A across our AI, advanced computing, and energy ecosystem.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in corporate finance, investment banking, or private equity, with a focus on AI infrastructure, digital infrastructure, data centers, or technology/energy sectors. This role offers direct exposure to Hut 8's high-priority corporate development initiatives and a clear path to collaborate with senior leadership by contributing to, and eventually driving, these strategic financial decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Build Financial Models: Develop and maintain detailed financial and operating models to evaluate data center developments, GPU procurement, and infrastructure investments.

  • Scenario Analysis: Conduct analysis of alternative capital structures, financing scenarios, lease vs. buy options, and sensitivity cases.

  • Executive Presentation: Prepare valuation materials, transaction summaries, and strategic analyses to support decision-making for the executive team and the Board.

Deal Execution

  • Support Deal Lifecycle: Participate in the full transaction process, from initial screening and financial evaluation through due diligence, structuring, and closing.

  • Valuation Ownership: Manage valuation workstreams, including DCF, comparable company/transaction analysis, and unit economics modeling for high-performance computing (HPC) assets.

  • Market Research: Monitor and analyze trends in the AI landscape, hyperscaler demand, and energy infrastructure to help validate new growth opportunities.

  • Create Materials: Draft investment committee memos, board presentations, and marketing materials for lenders and investors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management

  • Internal Coordination: Work closely with teams across Data Center Development, Energy Origination, EPC, Treasury, Legal, and Accounting to ensure seamless transaction execution.

  • Manage Diligence: Coordinate due diligence processes, acting as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders and external advisors (legal, tax, technical).

  • Relationship Support: Help maintain and cultivate relationships with investment banks, technology vendors, and institutional investors.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in investment banking (TMT, Digital Infrastructure, or Power/Energy groups), private equity, infrastructure funds, or a corporate development role within the tech or utility sector.

  • Technical Skills: Strong financial modeling capabilities and a solid understanding of corporate finance principles and transaction mechanics.

  • Industry Interest: Familiarity with or a strong interest in the economics of data centers, AI compute infrastructure, power constraints, and cloud ecosystems.

  • Work Ethic: Highly organized with strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the professional maturity to interface with senior executives and external partners.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
