Position Description:
We are looking for highly skilled Full Stack Engineers with strong expertise in API development, Java microservices, and AWS cloud technologies to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for engineers who excel at building enterprise-grade, business-critical applications and enjoy working across modern distributed architectures. You will contribute to designing scalable systems, modernizing legacy platforms, and driving innovation through GenAI-enabled engineering practices.
This is a Full-Time, On-Site opportunity based in Durham, NC.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain Java based microservices and REST APIs using Spring Boot or Dropwizard.
• Build and optimize event driven architectures using AWS services such as SNS, SQS, Lambda, Glue, and EventBridge.
• Implement secure, automated CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, including unit, component, and functional test automation.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to re platform large legacy applications into modern cloud native solutions.
• Work with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Develop and support high volume transactional systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Provide production release support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth deployment cycles.
• Use Drools for business rules management and decision automation.
• Contribute to engineering modernization efforts using GenAI, Dev Assist, and Spec Driven Development.
• Partner with product and business teams, especially within the Finance domain, to deliver solutions for sales and variable compensation systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 10+ years of hands on software development experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Dropwizard, and microservices architecture.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of event driven systems and asynchronous messaging patterns.
• Hands on experience with AWS services: SNS, SQS, Lambda, Glue, EventBridge.
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD automation using Jenkins.
• Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Background in re platforming or modernizing large scale applications.
• Expertise in building and supporting high volume transactional systems.
• Experience with Drools or other business rules engines.
• Experience with GenAI, Dev Assist, or Spec Driven Development (preferred).
• Domain experience in Financial Services (preferred).
