TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana.

Job Description & Requirements

UNIT: SURGICAL MEDICAL CARE CENTER (SMCC) - 7360
CLINICAL INTERVIEW

Weekly Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)

Required Certs: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.

Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule.  Every other holiday.

Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)

Patient Population: Post surgical -whipples, vascular, pre/post heart caths, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, open bellies. Dementia, AMS, CIWA/detox, q 2 hour turns, fall risks, thyroid surgeries.

Skillset: PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, tele interpretation, wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes), pre/post heart cath (Fem./TR bands/no interventions). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates

Unit Information: 41 beds.  Ratio: Days 1:5-6; NOCs 1:6-7; CN takes a patient assignment. Great teamwork, helpful charge nurses, experienced PCT, excellent unit culture (birthdays/national day celebrations, etc.)

Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs - No competing health systems or agency logos

NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)

*** Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students & new-hires ***
*OT will go into effect after 52hrs on 48hr contracts

GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed
