Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Nights - 12-hour shifts, 7 PM - 7:30 AM, with a 36-hour guarantee per week, including every other weekend.

Job Description: We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our team in a beautiful new 120-bed facility. The RN will be responsible for providing care in various units, including Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients, with a focus on low-acuity adult populations. The RN may float to any unit as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in behavioral health settings.
  • Monitor patient conditions and administer medication according to established protocols.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage patient behavior effectively.
  • Document patient information using the EHR Wellsky system.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Experience with de-escalation techniques; familiarity with "Handle with Care" or CPI is a plus.
  • Active RN license.
  • Ability to work 36 hours per week, including every other weekend.
