On the Inpatient Behavioral Health and Psychiatric Services team, a Registered Nurse Behavioral Health supports a specialized, 24/7 program delivering inpatient psychiatric care for adults and adolescents; the adult service includes a 16-bed secure unit and a 10-bed behavioral medicine unit, while the adolescent service features a 15-bed unit caring for ages 5-18, all with an emphasis on crisis stabilization, medication management, and therapy for mental health disorders, including chemical dependency, with focused treatment for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and grief; as an RN Behavioral Health, you will practice trauma-informed care within a safe, structured environment designed for stabilization and recovery.
In this RN Psychiatric Services role, the Registered Nurse Psychiatry reports to a Behavioral Health Nurse Manager and collaborates closely with charge nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, social workers, case management, pharmacy, and mental health technicians; the RN Behavioral Health delivers comprehensive assessments, individualized care planning, therapeutic communication and group facilitation, crisis de-escalation, safe medication administration and monitoring, coordination of therapy and discharge planning, meticulous EHR documentation, and participation in safety huddles and continuous improvement; a supportive structure includes thorough orientation, experienced preceptors, real-time leadership access, multidisciplinary rounding, and a friendly, diverse team of nurses and allied professionals committed to dignity, empathy, and consistent, high-quality care within the RN Behavioral Health Unit.
