Job Summary

As a member of the IT Technical Staff, this position will work in various aspects of desktop support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot technical issues at the walk-up service center, interacting directly with users while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and other computer and telecommunications equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop hardware and associated software.
  • Follow established processes and testing procedures to ensure high-quality work with minimal disruption to end users.
  • Evaluate and implement application software solutions identified by Corporate IT.
  • Take proactive and corrective actions to resolve issues before they become system problems.
  • Install, configure, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair Windows and macOS hardware and software issues.
  • Provide desktop support in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
  • Maintain password security, data integrity, and file system security.
  • Respond promptly to customer issues, document troubleshooting steps and resolutions, and close assigned cases through the designated tracking system.
  • Communicate case status, problems, and recommendations with customers, peers, and management.
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network connectivity issues to determine root causes.
  • Support conference room technology, including projectors, display screens, sound systems, telephony equipment, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
  • Perform administrative duties to support efficient team operations.
  • Provide onsite support at the walk-up service desk (Tech HUB).
Required Skills
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktop and laptop systems, including familiarity with imaging processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, flexibility, and time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience documenting incidents from creation through closure using enterprise ticketing systems such as Freshservice.
  • Proficiency supporting:

- Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11 - macOS - iOS - Android

  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience maintaining password security, data integrity, and BitLocker encryption.
  • Experience supporting Cisco VoIP telephony systems and troubleshooting headset hardware.
  • Experience recommending computer hardware and technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience providing remote support using tools such as Bomgar.
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including:

- Word - Excel - PowerPoint - Outlook - SharePoint - Teams - OneDrive - Forms - Stream - Tasks - Video - OneNote

  • Ability to perform additional duties assigned by the IT Desktop Support Manager.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM/MECM.
Education Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Technical certifications such as A+, MCP, or HDI are preferred.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • 2 years of customer-facing desktop support experience.
