Salary: $60,000 - $64,500/year

Gunnison is seeking a Desktop Technician to support the Department of the Interior/Indian Affairs (DOI/IA) user base. This role provides end-user computing support across enterprise environments, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and network infrastructure. The Desktop Technician III will install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, support standard and specialized applications, and ensure reliable IT operations.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical resource, leading projects and providing advanced troubleshooting while operating with little to no supervision. 
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across enterprise desktop and network environments
  • Lead technical projects, system upgrades, and deployments
  • Develop and maintain project management documentation
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IT systems and initiatives
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians
  • Support specialized software applications (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD)
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
  • Assist in process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of related technical experience
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise desktop environments and infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and office applications
  • Ability to develop project documentation and lead initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without guidance
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating technical teams
  • Some managerial experience supporting teams of 5+ staff
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance


The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
