With lead Broker oversight, provides excellent customer service and processes new and renewal brokerage business, issues quote proposals and binders/invoices, and handles claims, endorsements, audits and other transactional items related to such accounts.
Essential Job Duties
Broker Support
  • Uses discretion and judgment in reviewing, marketing and submitting new and renewal business.
  • Subject to authority, prepares and provides agency customers with quote proposals, binders, policies and invoices in a timely manner and within deadlines.
  • Assists Broker with renewal processing, preparation of renewal solicitations and monitoring of accounts throughout renewal cycle.
  • Handles endorsement changes and cancellations, follow-up on subjectivities and process claims.
  • Effectively understands marketplace and changing market conditions, keeping abreast of trends and techniques to maintain a competitive status.

Customer Service
  • Builds strong relationships with agency partners, provide excellent customer service and participate in marketing calls and training with Brokers.

Marginal Duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to the company's Attendance Management Policy.
  • Works with other employees when necessary.
  • Assist in the training and development of other employees as necessary.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related insurance experience and/or training required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience will be considered.
  • Any additional education/experience requirements

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Hawaii Property & Casualty Resident Producer and Surplus Lines Broker Licenses required or willingness to obtain license within prescribed timeframe.
  • Attainment or working towards an insurance designation (i.e. CISR, CIC, etc.) desirable.
  • Any other certificates, licenses or registrations required by the position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Adheres to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

  • Possess a positive attitude, rationality, and tactfulness.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Typing 35 wpm (accurate) required.
  • Experience with AIM or similar agency management system and ImageRight or similar imaging system desirable.
  • Proficient in PC navigation and skills with Microsoft Office Suite of Products and applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in the following:
    • Mathematical, analytical and financial analysis

Working Conditions
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Any other physical demands required of the position.

Work Environment:
  • Primarily an office environment where noise levels are usually moderate.
  • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $35,600 to $66,200.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
