Job description

Position: Design Technology Specialist

Level: Junior to Intermediate

Studio/Department: Design Technology

The Design Technology department at Rockwell Group drives effective BIM strategies and solutions across the firm. We develop fun, practical training materials that simplify complex tools and workflows for the design team, ensuring easy adoption and application. We ensure that our solutions not only enhance efficiency but also support creativity and innovation in the design process. This blend of technical expertise, research, and strategic implementation is key to maintaining design intent.

Role Overview:

The Design Technology team is seeking a talented Design Technology Specialist to support and troubleshoot with day-to-day BIM issues as well as long-term project deliverables. This is an office-wide role with the intent to maintain office standards among a variety of projects ranging from small interior repositioning to large-scale and innovative, outside-the-box designs. While the primary role will be support and BIM management for specific Studio teams, there will be opportunities to help grow and expand the current Design Technology library of tools and information, as well as participate in defining and augmenting office standards for documentation.

The Design Technology Specialist will report directly to the Director of Design Technology and work to support Studio members.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and assist staff with day-to-day technical BIM issues

Set up initial Revit model for new projects with shared coordinates

Review general BIM health for project teams

Create and maintain Revit Families and other Revit content

Assist with development of Revit templates

Participate in implementing the Design Technology office

standards and policies

Be responsible for setting regular BIM project team meetings

Assist Design Technology Managers and Director

Develop and teach in-office training

Assist Studio's teams as a production staff member

Qualifications:

3 - 7 years of experience in architecture and interiors

Bachelor's degree or master's degree in architecture, advanced design, or interiors

Proficient Revit skills and familiarity with appropriate plugins (Pyrevit, Ideate, etc.)

Ability to 3D model in Rhino

Experience in scripting (e.g. Grasshopper, Dynamo, etc.) is preferred but not required

Experience in hospitality design and/or interior design is preferred

Ability to prioritize projects, manage one's own time, and connect with Studio leaders and team membersto meet deadlines

Proactive and interested in spearheading their own initiatives

Positive, friendly, proactive, and collaborative attitude with excellent communication skills

General Information:

This is a full-time, in-studio position with work-from-home flexibility provided it complies with our current office policy outlined in the Rockwell Group Handbook and it does not interfere with responsibilities.Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 excluding bonuses and other benefits. This is a good faith estimate based on the expectations laid out in the job description. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, life insurance, 401k plan,and yearly performance reviews.
