Job Description/Duties
Are you creative? Are you interested in teaching or training? Have you ever wondered how your professors prepare for class or why your assignments are structured like they are? Do you plan to be a teacher someday or a corporate trainer? Do you love to make videos, play with AI, and build web tools?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, you might enjoy instructional design. If you answered yes to all of them, then you definitely need to apply for this internship!
Instructional designers come from a variety of fields including Education, Media and Communication, Graphic Design and Business. Interns with Cortland's Center for Teaching and Learning should expect to learn about the following:
1. Brightspace Design
2. Adult Learning
3. Conducting Effective Assessments
4. Working with clients/faculty
5. Project management/organizing professional events
6. Media creation
The intern will be able to work on some projects individually but will need to check in with the Senior Director regularly and may need to work with some of the Instructional Designers on projects.
Days/Hours Needed
Days are flexible. 8 hours per week.

Must be SUNY Cortland Student
Basic computer knowledge
Interest in Teaching or Training
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in Higher Education or K-12 Instructional Design
