Job description

Instructional Design & Technology Specialist

Summary

Works collaboratively with members of the department, faculty, and academics to enhance teaching and learning through the effective integration of instructional design principles and instructional technology 

Essential Job Functions

  • Supports course development, offers training, and maintains the quality and effectiveness of instructional strategies across various delivery formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses
  • Collaborates with faculty to design and develop new courses and revise existing ones, maintaining they meet university standards and learning outcomes
  • Develops and delivers faculty development in the effective application of instructional technologies and instructional design principles
  • Consults with faculty and other department staff on the identification and implementation of appropriate technology and instructional strategies to meet student learning outcomes
  • Troubleshoots and resolves matters related to instructional technologies for faculty and staff
  • Provides support to faculty for the learning management system, media tools, and other technologies for teaching
  • Identifies and assists in implementing innovative and effective learning techniques
  • Builds master course shells in the learning management system
  • Monitors online courses to confirm they meet quality standards and deadlines
  • Stays abreast of new technologies and strategies related to the implementation of instructional technologies and provides analysis and recommendations for improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master's degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in instructional design, learning management systems, faculty support, integrating technology into teaching in an educational setting or other related experience
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in course design and instruction
  • Experience with Blackboard Ultra

Compensation:  $65,000/annualized
