Equipment Engineering Manager - RTP Semiconductor Fab
An immediate opportunity is available for a Fab Equipment Engineering Manager. The key function of this role is to maintain a safe working environment within the operation while tacticallydirecting a staff of highly skilled electro-mechanical technicians and engineers in support of fab manufacturing.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Plan, execute, and refine PM schedules and procedures - report on compliance to schedule
  • Continuously improve the technician team performance reporting on key indicators
  • Take part in repair and maintenance activities as necessary to support daily goals - hands on.
  • Support operational initiatives such as 5S, ERT, Facilities, and EH&S
  • Maintain consistency and direction for shift to shift verbal and written communications
  • Support the safety of employees through training and safe workplace development.
  • Plan and ensure technician resources are adequate across the work priorities
  • Coordinate training of technicians, continuously map and improve technician and engineer training gaps
  • Conduct performance appraisals
  • Manage weekly timecards, paid time off, overtime, and budget to business goals.
  • Initiate and provide supplemental after-hours support as the situation dictates
  • Maintain some degree of connectivity and ability to respond to events when off site
  • This position reports directly to the Equipment Engineering Director.
  • This position will include a supervisor or Manager direct report.

The successful candidate will have the following:
Required Skills
  • 5-10 years of high-tech manufacturing equipment technician supervisory experience.
  • A keen understanding of how to lead and improve a support group in manufacturing.
  • Ability to plan improvement well into the future, translate that planning into yearly goals.
  • Can-do positive attitude with clear evidence of success in this role.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining semiconductor fabrication equipment
  • Excellent keyboard, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with basic computer operations and programs such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with Uptime tracking and shop floor management systems, MES or other manufacturing data systems.
  • Strong decision-making and team leadership skills are essential. You will earn the respect of your team.
  • Physical demands may include some lifting up to 50 lbs and a high degree of mobility

Desired Skills
  • Engineering, Science, or Management degree preferred.
  • SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Capital project management.
