Job description

INTRODUCTION

RE Management Solutions (REMS) currently has an opening for an Assistant Project Manager in Lombard, IL. With headquarters in Baltimore, MD, REMS is continuing to grow and expand its client base across the East Coast.

Our project teams lead clients through the full commercial real estate process, from site selection, planning, design, construction, and turnover. We serve as the owners’ representative, acting as an extension of their organization while overseeing and providing support for the entire project team (general contractors, architects, engineers, etc.).

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing all aspects of support on assigned pre-development and construction projects and programs. The Assistant Project Manager will support the project team, produce reports as required to keep the project on track and manage various aspects of a project as needed and assigned by the Project Manager

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide assistance on all phases of a project, from concept through design and construction, to occupancy of the facility

· Oversee aspects of the project as assigned

· Organize, track, and maintain project documentation using SharePoint and other Microsoft products.

· Review and interpret design drawings

· Assist in the preparation and management of meeting minutes, agendas, budgets, schedules, and various reports

· Process and review change orders, RFIs, and submittals

· Coordinate with project stakeholders as required and appropriate

· Conduct site visits, as directed by the Project Manager

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS/ABILITIES

Minimum Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university with preference given to a degree focused on architecture, engineering, or construction. Project management experience focused on IT, furniture, architecture, engineering, and/or construction will be considered in lieu of a degree.

· Minimum 1-year related work experience

· Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; Construction Project Management software preferred.

· Self-motivated and self-directed

· Able to effectively multitask, prioritize, and efficiently manage time.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Able to analyze problems, strategize, and implement effective solutions

· Able to build solid relationships with vendors, investors, construction managers, and construction team

· Ability/willingness to independently travel to and from project/construction sites as needed; valid driver’s license in good standing with any U.S. state MVA required if driving a vehicle for business purposes

Physical Requirements: This position is performed, at times, in an office setting with extended periods of sitting and computer/keyboard use; reading documents; phone, and other electronic equipment. Minimal lifting (<20 lbs.), frequent standing, climbing and often traversing commercial site construction areas as needed; able to tolerate moderate construction dust, all types of weather, and uneven terrain. Must be able to travel independently from project sites and office
