Dewberry is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer - Deputy Project Manager in Nashville, TNIn this pivotal role, you will assist and/or provide project management services of projects from initial concept through design, bidding, negotiation, and construction administration, ensuring a seamless experience that fosters long-term client relationships and positions us to win future projects. Provide support to grow the Healthcare practice in our Nashville office. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client’s desires and budget and be a liaison between the client and technical staff. In short, be client facing, assist and provide Project Management services, and provide technical guidance associated with electrical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Business Unit Manager & collaborate with other Project Managers, Sr Project Managers & Regional Market Segment Leaders to deliver on our commitments.

  • Provide &/or assist Sr Project Managers & Project Managers with the following:
    • Maintain primary one-to-one contact with the client.
    • Understand the client's needs and goals and that of his/her organization.
    • Draft proposals for new projects with existing clients for review and signature of the Principal In Charge and track proposals through award of project. Work with client to develop additional work.
    • Prepare design and construction budgets and design schedules.
    • Attend regular design meetings with the client and issue meeting minutes.
    • Lead, organize, and schedule design team staff.
    • Organize and direct frequent in-house design meetings.
  • Coordinate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan and assign appropriate personnel.
  • Document meetings and telephone conversations.
  • Provide quality control to ensure that all of the clients' needs and requests have been met. Ensure and coordinate among all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
  • Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions to Owner.
  • Coordinate the responses to reviews. Ensure that responses are in fact reflected in the drawings and specifications.
  • Arrange for in-house quality review in a timely fashion.
  • Perform site visits, inspections activities as required to support the Construction Administration requirements.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure. 
  • Accomplished electrical engineer with 7+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, multiple generator powerhouses, multi-building medium voltage campus distribution, fault studies, selective overcurrent coordination studies, load flow studies, arc flash studies, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on healthcare and commercial projects.
  • Experience should include management of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, takes good notes.
