Job description

Principal Accountabilities:
Assume full accountability of all phases of the project and be prepared to do what is required to achieve the desired results.
Develop and update detailed execution plans for all phases of the project, so it becomes a tool used by all team members to define directions and guide decisions.
Develop and update as required a Risk Register, defining adequate mitigating actions.
Ensure that all internal and external stakeholders have adequate opportunity to provide input, comments, endorsements and approvals.
Minimize risks through early identification, planning, selection of best possible contracting strategies and proactive Project Management practices which focus on prevention of problems.
Supervise and coordinate the efforts of the Contractors selected to execute the various activities so they perform diligently all the obligations under the contract defined for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction.
Ensure that adequate evaluations of the project are performed with the participation of qualified personnel during the sessions. Also ensure that all resulting actions are pursued and resolved, and documents are updated.
Implementation and maintenance of project quality, scope, cost and time controls
Review design documents and shop drawing submittals for accuracy and constructability
Initiation, review and timely resolution of RFI items
Review of subcontractor change order requests and the processing and timely resolution of the change order requests to owner and the issuance of change orders to subcontractors
Prepare quantity take-offs and change order estimates
Preparing and updating of project schedules
Preparation of charts, graphs and field sketches to document proposed work sequences and to monitor work progress
Preparing and updating of monthly project cost status
Drive for results. The expectation is that the Deputy Project Director will make all necessary efforts and all required decisions to achieve the expected results. Direct influence in results is expected.
