Role

To direct the operations of a credit union branch ensuring it meets financial, operational, service, and growth plans and to assist members with their consumer deposit and lending needs. Assist members and potential members with their credit union needs by explaining services, opening new accounts, analyzing loan requests, making loan decisions based on lending policy, and responding to problems.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

- Greets and welcomes members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions. 

- Maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services. Maintains an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations, including robbery procedures.

- Promotes, explains, and cross-sells all credit union products and services; coaches subordinates on effective ways to promote, explain, and cross-sell all credit union products and services.

- Explains loan and deposit programs to members, evaluates their needs, and recommends appropriate options.

- Interviews member loan applicants to obtain information concerning their loan needs, earnings, and financial condition.

- Analyzes current financial position of members to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money and makes decisions to approve, reject, or forward loan requests to higher levels for decisions. 

- Assists members with IRA transactions to include opening new IRA accounts, transfers, deposits, and withdrawals.

- Prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy.

- Opens deposit accounts and performs other deposit related functions as needed.

- Analyzes, researches, and resolves problems and discrepancies related to member accounts.

- Oversees branch functions and supervises branch staff, conducts performance appraisals, and recommends salary adjustments and promotions, approves time, counsels, and disciplines.

- Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and insures appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.

- Maintains communications with senior management, prepares and submits required reports, and attends scheduled management meetings.

- Monitors all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Intermediate PC knowledge with basic Microsoft Office skills   

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Up to three years of similar or related experience

- Up to one year of previous management experience, preferably within the financial industry.

- Strong supervisory skills allowing for effective leadership of assigned team members

- Familiar with operation of 10-key calculator

- Ability to work in a team environment

- Excellent communication skills while using a pleasant tone and common conversational courtesies

- Good interpersonal skills to include being courteous, diplomatic, and tactful

- Good organizational skills

- Ability to multitask when necessary

- Familiar with Federal Regulations related to processing financial transactions, IRA transactions, opening new accounts, and loan reviewing, approving, and processing.

- Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field or equivalent work experience.

- Maintain a highly qualified, trained staff sufficient to meet the demands of members.

- Keep management informed regarding key issues affecting branch operations. 

- Maintain confidentiality of information obtained through managerial responsibilities 

- Respond to all e-mails and voicemails before end of business day.

- Meet goals as determined by management for error rates, delinquency levels, charge-off ratios, and lending related insurance products.
