Avadian Credit Union is seeking an experienced Deposit Operations professional to lead and support our Deposit Administration team. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in compliance-driven environments and enjoys mentoring others while ensuring operational excellence.


As the Deposit Support Supervisor, you will partner closely with the Director of Deposit & Treasury Management Administration to oversee daily deposit operations, guide team performance, and serve as a subject matter expert in IRA administration. We are specifically looking for someone with Deposit Operations experience who understands regulatory compliance, documentation accuracy, and the importance of balancing operational efficiency with exceptional member support.


This role is ideal for a deposit operations professional who is ready to step into a leadership position where accuracy, compliance, and team development are equally valued.


Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, coach, and support the daily operations of the Deposit Administration team, monitoring workloads, performance, and departmental objectives.
  • Serve as the IRA subject matter expert for Traditional and Roth IRAs, ensuring accurate account setup, transfers, contributions, rollovers, and distributions in full regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee IRS tax reporting requirements and ensure documentation accuracy and policy adherence.
  • Review exception items and documentation deficiencies, proactively identifying and resolving compliance issues.
  • Support branch personnel and members with deposit-related inquiries and online account opening processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports and summaries for leadership, and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Serve as a key operational resource and backup for deposit operations functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Deposit Operations within a financial institution (strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of IRAs and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and guiding team members.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Experience:

  • Preferred: Familiarity with Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).
  • Preferred: Certified IRA Specialist (CIS).
  • Three to five years of experience in deposit operations and payment systems, with a strong understanding of related processes and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead, guide, and influence team members effectively.
  • Required: Prior experience in a financial institution.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience
  • Associate's degree with 5-7 years of related experience
  • 7-10 years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education and/or IRA certification

IRA certification is preferred.
Relevant experience includes financial services, deposit operations, IRAs, or related areas.
