Amazon Robotics (AR) is located in the greater Boston area, the epicenter of robotics innovation. Our diverse team of engineers come from all over the world to design, test and build our dynamic fleet of robots and mechatronic systems. Having our offices, labs, test floors and factories all co-located means that we can design the hardware, write the code, test, build and watch it all come to life. This allows us to innovate quickly and on limitless ideas. Current advancements are underway in autonomous movement and mobility, artificial intelligence and machine learning, manipulation, simulation, robotic management software, predictive analytics, and much more.
The AR Technology Deployment (TD) Strategy and Operations (S&O) team is looking for an experienced Safety Risk Manager to be responsible for the deployment of new technologies and products in a safe, ergonomic and efficient manner in new construction as well as live sites.
This individual will also support day-to-day monitoring of Tech Deployment Safety Programs and initiatives. The candidate will assist in reviewing safety compliance and drive proactive identification of potential safety hazards for TD, our partners, and impacted teams within the Amazon workplace. The individual will take the lead in promoting safety awareness and education across sites and labs and be hands-on with the product and deployment teams we support.
We are looking for someone that is passionate about Safety, can identify risks and opportunities, and owns driving improvements while engaging Operations teams and other stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
- Evaluate new products and technologies and provide guidance to engineering and development teams to allow those products to be installed/deployed safer, more ergonomically and/or more efficiently in new construction as well as live sites.
- Contributing to the TD Safety Team to ensure delivery of safety performance in line with personal, team and functional goals and objectives, facilitating and/or arranging training programs on critical safety issues
- Supporting the business to ensure compliance to local and international legislation and the implementation of safety programs.
- Ensuring that systems are kept accurate at all time with completed incident reports and all required supporting documentation, with metrics compiled on key data points to help the TD Safety Manager prepare/issue regular and ad hoc reports and metric documents
- Partnering with Site WHS, GESS and other affected teams to report and investigate incidents and/or near misses and ensure documentation.
- Supporting TD Contractor management, pre-qualification and the execution of the Safe System of Work (SSOW) developed to perform Contractor work in new construction as well as live sites.
A day in the life
As a Safety Risk Manager, you will take a lead role in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating new products and technologies to ensure compliance with Amazon and industry safety policies and expectations in order to provide a safe and secure workplace for employees and partners. You will be responsible for maintaining safety documentation, requirements and reporting as well as leading and/or participating on safety committees, programs and initiatives. You will work across Amazon team to perform work task risk assessments and develop safety standard work in conjunction with our engineers, designers, and associates. In the event of issues or escalations you will investigate and report on situations and ensure proper actions are captured and closed out. You will pull teams together as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to conduct Root Cause Analyses in conjunction with Operations leadership and our deployment teams. In support of our field activities you will perform site physical condition safety observations, associate safety behavior observations, as well as audits and inspections in relation to fire and safety related equipment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
