Job description

The Networking Deployment Specialist is responsible for maintaining Clair networking standards and ensuring consistency in network deployments set by the NDS (Networking Deployment Supervisor)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain, and deploy default configurations for all company networking equipment
  • Technical support and troubleshooting assistance to in house and touring personnel
  • Oversee audio over IP deployments for standard touring and event specific applications

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.

  • General understanding of Microsoft Office and ERP systems with a willingness to improve knowledge base moving forward
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing, in person, and over the phone so others will understand
  • Ability to excel and adapt in a fast-paced, client driven, demanding environment
  • Ability to work as part a team and maintain a positive attitude under sometimes challenging conditions
  • Strong background in server management and software installation and upgrades
  • Familiarity with command line interface
  • Knowledge and understanding of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network cabling and hardware
  • Willingness to accept all jobs assigned
  • CCENT/CCNA Qualifications strongly preferred
  • BS or BA in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant field a plus but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Apply default config. files to equipment being deployed, including routers, switches, servers, UPSs, etc.
  • Assist the NDS in creating documentation and manage standard configuration file storage
  • Work with software development team in creating automation tools to increase deployment efficiency
  • Assist with network training for road staff and in house personnel
  • Test and configure networking hardware and end user accessories
  • Imaging and re-imaging computers as needed
  • Other duties as may be assigned
