About the job
The Demand Planning & S&OP Manager is responsible for leading the demand planning process for fabricated products across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role drives forecast accuracy through close collaboration with Product Management, Sales Leadership, and Operations while facilitating the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The position serves as a key cross-functional leader, ensuring alignment between customer demand, inventory strategy, and production capabilities. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports but requires strong leadership, influence, and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Your tasks
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecasting
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve SKU-level demand forecasts for fabricated products across multiple manufacturing plants.
• Partner with Product Management and Sales Leadership to create accurate demand plans based on market trends, customer demand, product lifecycle changes, and business objectives.
• Analyze historical sales data, market intelligence, and business inputs to improve forecast accuracy and reduce variability.
• Monitor forecast performance and implement corrective actions to address forecast gaps and demand changes.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
• Facilitate weekly S&OP meetings and related planning reviews.
• Prepare and distribute meeting materials, presentations, dashboards, and supporting analyses.
• Lead discussions among Sales, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to drive alignment and decision-making.
• Document meeting outcomes, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up and resolution of open issues.
• Provide recommendations and insights to support executive decision-making and business planning.
Inventory Management/OSMI
• Lead Obsolete, Slow-Moving, and Excess Inventory (OSMI) reporting and analysis across all facilities.
• Identify inventory risks and develop proactive strategies to prevent excess and obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and inventory reduction initiatives.
• Monitor inventory health metrics and communicate performance trends to leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to align demand plans with business objectives.
• Support new product launches, product transitions, and end-of-life planning activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to forecasting, planning processes, and inventory management.
• Serve as a trusted business partner and subject matter expert for demand planning and S&OP processes.
Requirements
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain planning, S&OP, or related disciplines.
• Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities and complex product portfolios.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, forecasting, and planning systems.
