What You Will Do
Ascension Seton Medical Group is looking for an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist for our Cardiology group.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Seton Medical Center to provide medical services to patients.

Ascension Seton is seeking an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join a growing and busy cardiovascular group at the only transplant center in Austin. The Advanced Heart Failure program at Ascension Seton provides a full spectrum of cardiovascular care including cardiac transplantation, LVAD, and ECMO support. Ascension Texas Cardiovascular provides comprehensive cardiac care to Austin and surrounding communities representing all subspecialties of cardiology including: interventional, structural, non-invasive (including cardiac CT and MR), EP, peripheral vascular, in addition to CHF/VAD/transplant. Our group practices primarily out of 4 hospitals in the Austin area including the teaching hospital at
the University of Texas Dell Seton Medical Center. In collaboration with the University of Texas there are non-required opportunities in research as well as in clinical education.
Our physicians comprise the cardiology division for UT Dell Medical School where we are responsible for medical student, resident, and fellow education. The advanced heart failure team works closely with the cardiology fellows as they rotate in the CVICU and heart failure service.
Ascension Texas Cardiovascular is also actively involved in clinical research with approximately 25-30 ongoing clinical trials with opportunities to participate if interested.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
