Job description

Premises / General Liability Defense Attorney

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Billable Requirement: 1,900 hours annually

About the Role


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Premises / General Liability Defense Attorney to join our Dallas office in a hybrid capacity. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload involving premises liability, general negligence, and other liability defense matters while collaborating with a supportive and high-performing legal team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of litigation from inception through trial, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Independently manage a caseload of premises liability and general liability matters
  • Provide strategic legal analysis and develop case strategies aligned with client goals
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Meet a 1,900 annual billable hour requirement while maintaining high-quality work product


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Texas
  • 2–8+ years of experience in premises liability and/or general liability defense (flexible depending on level)
  • Strong litigation skills, including experience taking and defending depositions and drafting motions
  • Trial experience is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
