Role: Self-Defense Combat Conditioning Instructor at United Defense Tactical
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Tactical Self Defense Instructor to join our team at United Defense Tactical. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and delivering comprehensive self-defense training programs for civilian members. This position requires advanced knowledge in multiple combat disciplines, exceptional teaching abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Training Development & Delivery
  • Design and implement comprehensive self-defense curricula incorporating hand-to-hand combat, weapons retention, situational awareness, and de-escalation techniques
  • Conduct individual and group training sessions for diverse audiences
  • Adapt training methodologies to accommodate various skill levels, from beginner to advanced tactical operators
  • Develop scenario-based training exercises that simulate real-world threat situations
  • Instruction & Assessment
  • Provide hands-on instruction in multiple disciplines, defensive tactics, and combat systems
  • Evaluate student progress through practical assessments and skill demonstrations
  • Maintain detailed training records and progress reports for all students
  • Ensure all training activities comply with safety protocols and industry standards
Program Management
  • Collaborate with program directors to continuously improve training effectiveness
  • Stay current with evolving tactical methodologies, threat assessments, and best practices
  • Assist in developing training materials, manuals, and instructional resources
  • Support certification programs and continuing education requirements
Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a safe training environment through proper equipment management and risk assessment
  • Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies, legal requirements, and insurance guidelines
  • Implement emergency response procedures during training activities
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and equipment inspections
Required Qualifications
Experience & Credentials
  • Minimum 5 years of documented experience in tactical training, or military combat instruction, or law enforcement defensive tactics
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
Technical Skills
  • Expert-level proficiency in hand-to-hand combat techniques and defensive tactics
  • Knowledge of weapons retention and disarmament techniques
  • Understanding of threat assessment, situational awareness, and conflict de-escalation
  • Familiarity with use-of-force continuum and legal implications of self-defense
Teaching & Communication
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex tactical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Experience developing training curricula and educational materials
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and motivation to students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced military training (Special Operations, Close Quarters Combat, SERE)
  • Law enforcement tactical team experience (SWAT, SRT, ERT)
  • Advanced instructor certifications in multiple combat disciplines
Physical Requirements
