Weed Man, North America's #1 lawn care franchise, is hiring a Lawn Care Technician Pesticide Application in Spencer, MA.
This full-time, outdoor, route-based role manages a recurring route of customers, applies lawn and pest control/pesticide treatments, and provides expert advice to property owners. You'll build relationships, explain treatment plans, and recommend services that improve lawn health. No prior lawn care technician experience is required for this role - training is provided! Employees must obtain their Massachusetts Pesticide License within 3 weeks of starting. During the off-season, we offer an opportunity to stay employed full-time through door-knocking where you'll generate leads by knocking on doors to offer free, no-obligation quotes or as part of the holiday dcor & lighting team.

Pay & Benefits:
- $22/hr starting pay - $23/hr after MA Pesticide License
- Avg. earnings ~ $25/hr based on production

Schedule:
- Initial schedule until MA Pesticide license is obtained: Mon-Wed 9:30am-6:30pm; Thurs-Fri 9:30am-4:30pm;
- After licensing: MonFri with a 7:00 AM start time
- Occasional Saturdays/overtime during peak season
- Start and end at Spencer, MA office daily
Responsibilities for Lawn Care Technician - Pesticide Application:
- Service a daily route of customers
- Apply fertilizer, weed, grub, and pest control/pesticide treatments
- Communicate with owners, answer questions and explain treatments
- Recommend additional services
- Build strong long-term customer relationships
- Meet service, production and sales goals
- Maintain equipment, vehicle, and professional appearance
- Complete service and sales documentation accurately
- Support other technicians as needed
- Off-season duties through door-to-door lead generation or as part of the holiday dcor & lighting team
Requirements for Lawn Care Technician - Pesticide Application:
- Valid driver's license with insurable record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Obtain MA Pesticide License within 3 weeks of start date (includes studying independently and paying for/passing the exam)
- Experience in face-to-face customer service; strong preference for consultative customer service (explaining services/products, making recommendations, answering customer questions, or advising customers)
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to walk large properties daily (up to 200,000 sq. feet) and lift up to 50 lbs
- Self-motivated, accountable, able to manage a daily route independently
- Ability to pass a background check
