Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow up assessments.
  • Plan, implement, and conduct preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
  • Plan, implement, manage, and maintain comprehensive environmental safety & health programs.
  • Provide management with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop emergency plans and serve as primary contact for injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintain a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
  • Guarantee that work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
  • Provide technical support to project managers.
  • Develop and maintain project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records.
  • Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
  • Participate in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
  • Schedule and coordinate waste disposal include manifesting and profiles.
  • Prepare and submit waste disposal compliance reports to all local, state and federal agencies.
  • Schedule and coordinate DCOR’s emission source testing program with facility personnel, emission source testing contractors, and local air district personnel. Coordinates emission screening and engineering prior to emission source testing on an as needed basis. Reviews emission source test reports prior to local air district submittal.
  • Coordinate DCOR’s quarterly fugitive emission monitoring program per local air district requirements. Schedule fugitive emission contractor inspection and repair activities in conjunction with facility personnel. Review fugitive emission reports prior to local air district submittal.
  • Perform emergency response activities such as spill reporting and agency notifications. Participate on DCOR’s Oil Spill Response Team.
  • Provide back-up for Spill Response, Air compliance, Waste and Water compliance on an as needed basis.
  • Participate in the Company’s on-call emergency program and oil spill Incident Management Team.
  • Perform other related tasks as periodically requested by the Vice President - HSE & Regulatory.
  • Assist with air monitoring compliance.
  • Assist with the selection of air pollution control technology for new or modified equipment.
  • Assist with the performance of or response to internal or external environmental inspections and audits.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be qualified under applicable regulations and required fit testing
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment which may include self-contained breathing apparatus
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and crawling
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and ramps
  • Operate power, pneumatic hand tools
  • Ability to work varying hours
  • Obtain and maintain Swing Rope Certification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant safety experience with working knowledge of Safety Management Systems.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills
