The Controller provides strategic and operational leadership for the financial functions of Upson Regional Medical Center and its affiliates, including the General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, Cash Management, and related accounting operations. This role is integral to maintaining the organization's financial integrity, operational effectiveness, and long-term fiscal strength.
The position is responsible for the preparation of monthly contractual and bad debt analysis, as well as other significant accounting estimates, including self-funded health insurance reserves, physician incentive compensation, and investment-related activity. The Controller partners closely with the CFO and executive leadership to assess daily financial performance, including revenue forecasts, expense trends, cash flow, and delivers timely financial reporting to support informed decision-making across senior leadership.
In addition, the Controller leads the organization's annual operating and capital budget process and serves as the primary liaison for external financial audits and reviews, including the annual financial statement audit, IRS Form 990 preparation, Medicare/Medicaid Cost Report, and DCH Hospital Financial Survey. The role also oversees key banking relationships, including deposits, lending activity, and credit card processing.

Experience:
Minimum
  • 8 years of accounting or finance experience with progressively greater responsibility, including at least 4 years in a leadership role. Healthcare experience is preferred.

Preferred
  • 10 or more years of accounting or finance experience, including at least 5 years of healthcare leadership experience.
