Job description

Territory Business Manager (TBM) is responsible for selling Alkermes products in the Des Moines territory and supporting promotional efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Alkermes products, related disease states, and marketplace products.
  • Use approved sales aids/studies/reprints and strong communication/listening skills with targeted healthcare providers; gain agreement for increased product use.
  • Manage the territory by identifying and calling on appropriate healthcare provider targets with required frequency; develop, review, update, and maintain target lists.
  • Utilize available resources/programs (e.g., samples, Promotional Speaker Programs) to increase business; discuss territory business with District Business Leader (DBL) as needed.
  • Develop business plans as required by the DBL; complete administrative tasks timely, accurately, and truthfully.
  • Exercise fiscal control of operational expenses (car, gas, office supplies, telephone, postage, lodging, meals, entertainment).
  • Work productively with other roles (other representatives, DBL, RMDs, Marketing, Key Accounts, headquarters).
  • Abide by promotional compliance and sample accountability compliance.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS required.
  • 2+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience required.
  • Must live within the geography of responsibility.
  • Driverโ€™s license in good standing.
  • Ability to demonstrate or secure appropriate credentialing for healthcare facility access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
  • Specialty sales experience.
  • Superior organizational/administrative skills; proven sales performance.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and influencing skills.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
Compensation/Benefits
  • Annual base salary: $125kโ€“$155k; performance-based sales incentive bonus targeted at $45k annually; eligibility for long-term incentive program; competitive benefits package.
