Job description

POSITION
DBL Law is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney. This position will perform associate level general litigation work and will work on cases which include defending employment-related claims as well as commercial disputes. The position is based in our Covington, Kentucky office.
JOB DUTIES
  • Draft and prepare legal briefs and pleadings.
  • Work with clients in the preparation of discovery responses.
  • Prepare and argue motions.
  • Perform legal research and writing.
  • Participate in depositions.
  • Prepare trial materials and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
  • Multi-task, meet deadlines, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independently manage cases.
  • Handle various aspects of litigation, such as motion hearings, meditations, and depositions.
  • Respond to administrative charges.
  • Collaborate with partners and other associates to develop and implement case strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • 3-5 or more years of experience practicing civil litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Outstanding academic record and civil litigation experience, strongly preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Kentucky.
