Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Security Officer for our Security Services department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Security Officer you will:
• Ensure a safe environment for our patients, staff, visitors, physicians and volunteers.
• Ensure quality outcomes for security department by communicating effectively with security, staff and the public.
• Conduct foot patrols of the facility and parking areas.
• Conduct vehicular patrols of the parking areas and off-site locations.
• Assist with restraining violent patients.
• Use time and resources in a financially responsible manner.
• Foster group cohesiveness within the security department
• Portray a positive image of the organization.
Qualified candidates will possess:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous security experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Must possess a US Driver's License
• Must qualify for a Maryland Special Police Commission (Clean Criminal
History required)
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must be able to respond to physically demanding emergency calls
Work Schedule:
Employment Type: Full-time

Typical Daily Schedule: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Weekend Requirements: Required every weekend, 2 days off during the week
