Job description

Flexographic Bag Converting Operator

Location: Florence, KY

Starting Pay: $21.20/hour

Shifts: 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am

A day on our bag line

You arrive to a clean, orderly production floor, greet your Production Supervisor and Shift Lead, and review the day’s line orders and dockets. You verify specifications for the job at hand, then load paper rolls and dial in the bag line for size. Cylinders are mounted, pressures and web tensions are set, and ink distribution is balanced to meet print requirements. As the run begins, you monitor quality—checking registration, seal integrity, and print clarity—while documenting results. If a stoppage occurs, you troubleshoot quickly to keep production flowing. Throughout the shift, you complete production paperwork, uphold food safety and GMP’s, and finish with a thorough cleanup of your area.

What you’ll do
  • Operate and set up bag converting machinery and support equipment to turn paper stock into finished, printed bags.
  • Read and confirm line orders/dockets and ensure the job runs to spec.
  • Load paper and adjust machine settings for correct bag size and format.
  • Mount cylinders; set pressures and tensions; fine-tune ink distribution for consistent print quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve stoppages and mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform and record in-process quality checks aligned to quality specifications.
  • Maintain responsibility for food safety and GMP’s during all operations.
  • Accurately complete daily production paperwork and shift reports.
  • Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfort working 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to complete company-provided training courses determined by management.
  • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
