General Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising before and/or after school day care programs, maintaining compliance with policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure the successful operation of the day care program.

Education and Experience:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and meet one of the following:
  1. A graduate degree in a child-related field and six months of programmatic experience;
  2. An endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related field and one year of programmatic experience;
  3. Forty-eight semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit of which 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours are in child-related subjects, and one year of programmatic experience;
  4. Two years of programmatic experience with one year in a staff supervisory capacity and at least one of the following education backgrounds
    • A one-year early childhood certificate that consists of at least 30 semester hours; or
    • A child development credential; or
    • A certification of qualification from an internationally or nationally recognized Montessori organization

Physical Requirements:
  • Light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
  • Work requires stooping, reaching, standing, and walking
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
  • The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
  • The worker is subject to noise and may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment
