The Manager IT Infrastructure Database Manager is responsible for leading the operational priorities and ensuring operational effectiveness within the database engineering and architecture teams.

You will have an opportunity to be a part of the technology journey to transform food for all through collaboration and building solutions across teams that directly contribute to our OneUNFI strategy. Roles include network automation, infrastructure unification and modernization, data services and analytics, and digital offering.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Leads the activities, priorities and solutions of the day-to-day database operations by leading the direct and indirect teamwork and results
  • Responsible for the enforcement of database technical standards and overall architecture
  • Manages the implementation and optimization of enterprise database solutions
  • Provides input in strategic planning around infrastructure and database roadmaps
  • Effectively manages relationships with vendors and ensures license compliance
  • Leads the design and manages compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements that include problem resolution and preventative maintenance measures
  • Coaches and develops team members to create high performance culture
  • Leads team quickly form collaborative work groups to solve engineering problems
  • Provides input into team strategic goals and monitor team goal performance
    Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or a combination of relevant IT experience and education

Experience:
  • 6-10 years of professional experience within technology, specifically within large scale database environments
  • Minimum 2 years of direct people leadership experience and talent development
  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Data Bricks, or equivalent databases
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams and outsource vendor relationships
  • Experience with server virtualization tools from such vendors as VMWare, Microsoft, Red Hat, Oracle, Amazon, Google
  • Experience with Cloud hosting from such vendors as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Deep knowledge of database management systems and modern data architectures
  • Ability to manage geographically and culturally diverse teams
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to achieve results
  • Feedback and coaching skills that contribute to high performance teams
  • Ability to connect day to day operations to talent goals
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:
Remote Role:
  • This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so.
