Job Purpose

The Visualization and Design Engineer is responsible for presenting data in a graphical or pictorial format to help people understand its significance and to identify or uncover patterns, correlations and trends etc. that are likely to go unnoticed in text-based data. Understands the business strategy and business context to co-define with the business the key performance indicators.

Job Description

The role is about design and being passionate for creating meaningful data visualizations and memorable user experiences. It is important to think strategically and communicate data-driven insights by transforming science and numbers into easily understandable visualization. The role will involve working closely with our key stakeholders in both business and IT to help tell stories with data and visualize insights in a compelling and insightful way that enables business decision-making.

While the main focus of the role is data visualization, a solid understanding of core graphic design principles including visual hierarchy, colour theory, layouts & grids and typography is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Expert knowledge of and experience with design & prototyping tools
  • Expert knowledge in Data visualization tools like SAC, PowerBI including Labels, Charts, Schemas, understanding of Heat Map, Dendograms.
  • Is familiar with user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Tools: Power Bi, Databricks, ADF, Azure DB, SQL Server, AAS, Excel.
  • Exp in Data Analysis and Business Intelligence with tools like Power BI in querying, Analyzing, designing, development and reporting environment
  • Good experience in SQL Queries, Views, Stored Procedures.
  • Rich experience in creating dashboards and providing access to different type of users
  • Very good experience in different connections methods and their pros/cons
  • Developing dashboards for measures with forecast, trend line and reference lines.
  • Creating different visualizations using Slicers, Lines, Pies, Histograms, Maps, Scatter, Bullets, Heat Maps, Tree maps, etc.
  • Power BI cloud, workspaces, gateways, premium capacity, publishing, scheduling, User Access Management.
  • Very good in understanding Data, Data Modeling and Data Warehousing.
  • Very good experience in handling high volume of data for Power BI reports and performance tunings and optimizing the reports.
  • DAX programming & expressions like filters, Aggregate, Mathematical Functions etc.
  • Experience in Power platform (Power Apps) is added advantage
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Can understand domain/functionality and requirements
  • Experience in working with AGILE, KANBAN methodologies
