Job description

Support Center - IrvingWe are looking for a Merchandising Data Analyst to transform raw retail data into actionable inventory strategies. You will be the engine behind our product performance, analyzing sales trends, seasonal fluctuations, and stock levels to ensure we have the right products in the right places at the right time.

Major Activities

Performance Reporting & Discovery

  • Reporting Ownership: Responsible for data discovery and turning raw data into logical information for recurring and ad-hoc merchandising reports.
  • KPI Tracking: Maintain dashboards that track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Sell-Through Rate, GMROI, and Stock-to-Sales ratios.
  • Dashboard Support: Assist with the design and development of interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to support daily business decisions.

Trend & Inventory Analysis

  • Trend Analysis: Identify emerging consumer patterns and "bestsellers" to influence future buying decisions and markdown strategies.
  • Inventory Optimization: Partner with the Planning team to forecast demand, helping to prevent overstock situations and minimize "out-of-stock" lost revenue.
  • Quantitative Deep-Dives: Perform analysis on supply chain subject areas to identify insights and support fact-based decision making.

Process & Collaboration

  • Space Productivity: Deliver data-driven insights on space performance to enable merchants in optimizing floor layouts and increasing overall store productivity.
  • Process Improvement: Collect and process business data to identify trends and issues that improve performance and support scalable analytical solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide on-demand support to Buyers and Planners needing help navigating reporting systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Use technical expertise to support new process design and report automation, reducing manual data entry for the broader team.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Certificate in Data Analytics, Data Mining, Data Science, or a related field.

Minimum Type of Experience Required

  • 2-4 years in retail analytics, merchandising, or business intelligence.

Technical Skills:

  • Excel Mastery: 2+ years of experience with MS Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, interactive dashboards, and custom functions).
  • SQL: At least 2 years of experience writing advanced SQL queries.
  • Power BI: At least 1 year of experience with Power BI desktop/service and writing basic DAX.
  • VBA: At least 1 year of experience in VBA programming for Excel/Access automation.

Other

  • Interest in retail trends and consumer behavior.
