Job description

Unison Systems is seeking a Sr. Data Visualization Analyst to join our client's team in Denver, CO.
This is an onsite contract role based in Denver, running through the end of 2026. You'll work five days per week in a collaborative environment where design quality and analytical rigor are equally valued.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business questions and design clear, effective visuals that drive decisions
  • Build customer-ready dashboards and reports in Tableau and Power BI using best practices in chart selection, color, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Extract and shape data with SQL to prepare datasets for visualization
  • Translate complex data into intuitive graphs and charts that prioritize clarity over complexity
  • Interpret findings and develop visual narratives that communicate key insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback to ensure dashboards are usable, elegant, and immediately understandable
  • Establish visualization standards, style guides, and reusable design patterns across teams

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence environments
  • 7+ years designing dashboards and visuals for customer-facing or executive audiences
  • Hands-on expertise in both Tableau and Power BI, with deep proficiency in at least one platform
  • Strong mastery of data visualization design principles including chart selection, color theory, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Proven ability to transform complex datasets into simple, clear visuals that communicate key insights at a glance
  • Strong SQL proficiency for data extraction and shaping
  • Working knowledge of Python or R (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain design choices and rationale
  • Portfolio of dashboards, reports, or visualizations demonstrating clear, well-designed data storytelling
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Design, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
