Full-time

Posted 24 days ago

Job description

The Opportunity
Every month, over 20,000 global advertisers across 2000+ agencies depend on Peer39 to ensure that their programmatic media meets the highest levels of quality, suitability, and contextual relevance. Peer39 has grown nearly 5x since going private six years ago. With third-party signals disappearing and demand for CTV contextual data and transparency rapidly increasing, especially within demand-side platforms (DSPs), the company is now expanding its commercial team to capture this next growth phase. Arguably one of the most well-positioned companies in the advertising space, Peer39 is at the center of almost every major challenge buyers are facing and is armed with a best-in-class innovative product suite that directly addresses and solves these challenges.
Job Description:
Peer39 is seeking a Sales Director with a demonstrated track record of success in programmatic CTV, Web or Mobile advertising technology or data sales, as well as an intimate knowledge of their regional market. This Sales Director will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, pitching, developing, and closing revenue opportunities with agencies, programmatic buying services, and brand clients in their region. This includes a broad range of Midmarket, Independent and Holding Company advertising agencies. The role requires you to be an evangelist, educator, and business consultant to our clients. It will put you at the forefront of Peer39's continued expansion and growth with their uniquely positioned and fast-growing CTV activation and transparency solutions among the broader programmatic suitability and contextual solutions offerings.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing organization at the center of the growing contextual signal advertising market, providing real solutions to big challenges that buyers, advertisers and platforms are facing and are interested in solving together.
Some key characteristics we look for:
  • Lifelong learners - as we are constantly innovating at Peer39, we explicitly look for employees who are intellectually curious in their work and personal lives
  • Start-up mode - we want employees who take initiative because they see something that needs to get done. There is no big company bureaucracy here.
  • Team player - we want employees who prioritize the success of the team versus building silos or claiming credit for themselves

Responsibilities:
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for Peer39 data on partnering with programmatic and video investment teams across advertisers, agencies while collaborating with regional platforms and managed service companies.
  • Understand and effectively communicate the Peer39 value proposition, technology stack, processes, and partnerships as they are related to the helpful usefulness of Peer39's solutions, helping clients achieve their growth and success.
  • Manage your own pipeline with CRM tools, sales automation, and internal sales development and account management resources for maximum efficiency and visibility, with carefully executed follow-up to closure.
  • Manage successful client executions, collaborating with internal client partners and marketing teams to ensure ongoing high client satisfaction, renewal, and deep penetration of customer organizations for incremental business.
  • Engage, prioritize, and develop strong and mutually valuable relationships at all levels with programmatic and data teams across advertisers, agencies, and their platforms to turn them into champions of Peer39's products and support sales efforts that drive deal growth.
  • Manage inter-team processes and escalations for the team and clients as needed to ensure efficient operation of the business and take front-line responsibility for decision-making about account and resource prioritization.
  • Work closely with management/product teams to provide market and customer feedback for new products and feature prioritization.
  • Achieve (or over-achieve) all sales targets

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in programmatic technology or data sales, driving new business, with an exceptionally strong command of the CTV landscape.
  • Strong background in programmatic and a deep understanding of the data ecosystem, the interconnectivity throughout the ecosystem, and its usefulness for the buying communities.
  • Demonstrated development of meaningful territory growth, management, and sales strategy across the Chicago and greater Midwest region.
  • Eagerness to work in a high-growth, rapidly evolving, team environment while being comfortable as a self-starter, proactive territory leader.
  • High level of curiosity to learn new technologies, becoming an expert resource for customers.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of creativity, self-motivation, and drive.
  • A BS or BA is required.
