Bloomberg is a global leader in business and financial information, news and insight, and we use innovative technology to deliver trusted data and bring transparency to the financial markets. Our customers around the globe rely on us for the information and tools they need to make critical investment decisions and remain connected across all sides of the financial community. And, to ensure the best experience for our 20,000+ employees across 176 offices globally, we provide the spaces and systems that allow our teams to work together with agility, productivity and collaboration, no matter where they are.

Bloomberg Financial Solutions’ department of 5,000+ employees are at the forefront of ensuring success for our customers and employees alike. Our team comprises several key pillars: sales, service, operations, culture and brand. As a department, we are united by a common goal: We create meaningful relationships with clients by understanding their needs and delivering exceptional end-to-end support from sales and implementation, through their ongoing relationship with Bloomberg.

Our Team

We are Bloomberg Enterprise Data - fast paced, innovative and fast-growing. We have worked hard and smart to become the $2.5B business we are today. We collaborate closely with our clients, taking the time to understand their unique businesses while focusing on specific data and technology needs. We have an endless selection of data sets covering all asset types which are available through multiple delivery technologies. This allows our clients to get exactly the data they need, when they need it, in the format they prefer.

Today’s financial institutions operate in an increasingly complex environment where understanding and managing risk is critical to investment decision-making. Market volatility, evolving regulatory requirements and increasingly sophisticated portfolios have created a growing need for high-quality, transparent and scalable risk and investment analytics. Firms need consistent analytics and data across their organizations to understand portfolio exposures, assess potential risks and make informed investment decisions.

Bloomberg’s Risk & Investment Analytics data solutions help clients identify, measure and manage risk across their investment processes. By delivering robust analytics and data that can be incorporated into clients’ enterprise workflows, Bloomberg helps risk managers, portfolio managers, investment teams and senior executives gain greater transparency into their portfolios and make more informed decisions. When investment and risk teams work from consistent, trusted data and analytics, the entire enterprise benefits.

Risk teams will appreciate Bloomberg's ability to help identify, measure and manage uncertainty, particularly during volatile market conditions. Investment teams can leverage analytics to better understand the drivers of portfolio risk and performance, while senior executives gain greater transparency into exposures across their businesses. Bloomberg’s Risk & Investment Analytics solutions provide the data and analytics clients need to support increasingly sophisticated investment and risk management workflows.

What’s the role?

As a key member of our Americas Specialist Sales team, you’ll be responsible for driving growth across Bloomberg’s Risk & Investment Analytics solutions. You’ll work closely with clients and prospects to understand their investment and risk management workflows, identify business challenges, and position Bloomberg solutions that deliver measurable value.

You’ll bring a strong understanding of financial markets, institutional investment workflows, risk management and investment analytics. You should be comfortable engaging across asset managers, banks, hedge funds, insurance companies, pension funds and other institutional investors, with a clear understanding of how risk and investment data flows across an organization, who uses it and how it supports investment and business decisions.

This is a consultative sales role requiring the ability to engage credibly with stakeholders ranging from risk managers, portfolio managers and quantitative professionals to technology leaders and C‑suite executives. You’ll manage complex sales cycles and articulate how Bloomberg’s Risk & Investment Analytics solutions can support clients’ investment processes, risk frameworks and broader strategic objectives.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of client relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Build and execute a pipeline strategy across the risk and investment analytics landscape
  • Own complex sales engagements from initial discovery through commercial negotiation and close
  • Develop a deep understanding of client investment, risk and technology workflows and translate those needs into relevant Bloomberg solutions
  • Build relationships across client organizations and effectively manage multiple stakeholders throughout the sales process
  • Engage with risk managers, portfolio managers, investment professionals, quantitative teams, technology teams and senior decision makers
  • Use your market, product and technical expertise to establish credibility and act as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Bloomberg’s Risk & Investment Analytics solutions
  • Develop clear, concise proposals and presentations that articulate client needs, existing workflows, proposed solutions and commercial value
  • Partner with Product teams to share client feedback and identify opportunities to enhance our solutions
  • Collaborate across Bloomberg sales and product teams to deliver integrated solutions that address broader client needs
  • Effectively manage multiple opportunities across different stages of the sales lifecycle

You’ll need to have:

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding demanding targets
  • Strong knowledge of risk management workflows, financial risk concepts and the use of risk data and analytics within financial institutions
  • A solid understanding of institutional investment workflows and how data and analytics support the investment process
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment and its impact on risk management and investment workflows
  • A consultative sales approach, with experience identifying client challenges and positioning data, analytics or technology solutions against those needs
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and senior executive audiences
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Willingness to travel to engage with clients and prospects

We’d love to see:

  • Direct experience selling risk, portfolio or investment analytics solutions
  • Knowledge of portfolio risk concepts and analytics across multiple asset classes
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape for financial risk data and analytics
