Job description

The incumbent will validate and analyze agency data to garner public health insight for specific agency divisions. The role will include exploratory data analysis, reporting, descriptive statistics, dataset curation, and data visualization.
The Data Analyst validates and analyzes a variety of agency data sources to garner public health insight. The incumbent will produce reports and support data-related activities for the several divisions. In addition, this role will assist with curation and analysis of various other datasets and assist teams with integrating new data and information into existing and new reports.
JOB DUTIES
โ€ข Serves as project lead/subject matter expert for specific data sources, as assigned
โ€ข Reviews and provides feedback on the work products of other analysts
โ€ข Responsible for transferring raw data to the appropriate location for use in data analysis projects
โ€ข Wrangles, cleans, and validates agency data sources with minimal guidance
โ€ข Conducts general analysis of agency datasets; serves as project lead, as assigned.
โ€ข Contributes to complex analysis of agency datasets, as requested
โ€ข Conducts data quality checks to ensure the validity and cleanliness of agency datasets prior to their use in analysis and reporting
โ€ข Oversee and review projects completed by associate analysts, as requested by senior analyst
โ€ข Interprets data and from multiple sources using a variety of analytical techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to data mining, to more complex statistical methodologies
โ€ข Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop novel ways of using and reporting out data.
โ€ข Provide technical assistance to program areas for the creation of reports and grant deliverables
REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข Demonstrated experience with data queries and transformations (including cleansing and standardizing) with SQL.
โ€ข Demonstrated experience with SAS and either R or Python, including data cleaning, running descriptive statistics and full analyses.
โ€ข Working knowledge of epidemiological methods, study design, and analysis needed with an understanding of both qualitative and quantitative data.
โ€ข Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
โ€ข Effective time management and program management skills.
โ€ข Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and fluid demands.
โ€ข Ability to maintain effective and professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
โ€ข Ability to research and document findings.
