Operations Team Lead I

As an Operations Team Lead I, you’ll help launch and lead our mailroom operations—building processes, supporting a strong team, and driving success in a growing environment. What will you be doing?

An Operations Team Lead I is responsible for maintaining high levels of productivity and quality to align with performance standards, customer documented instructions, requirements, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), by performing the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage a small team by monitoring adherence to department and company policies (including attendance, safety, confidentiality, personal device use, daily productivity, work completion, quality, and accuracy).
  • Provide hands-on coaching and ongoing guidance to employees to ensure daily operational goals are met consistently.
  • Communicate with management regarding workflow issues, operational challenges, or performance concerns.
  • Maintain working knowledge of SDS client accounts and assigned P.O. Boxes.
  • Perform batching and imaging quality reviews of employee work in accordance with SDS policies and procedures.
  • Assign and assist with document destruction tasks when required.
  • Assist with team member training, including onboarding and cross-training as needed.
  • Assist with managing employee time-off requests through ADP.
  • Utilize the Marc cart to transport boxes or trays to the designated work/storage areas in accordance with retention and security requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to imaging and processing.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 45 pounds.

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisor function, or 2 years of experience at SDS.
  • A valid driver's license to operate company vehicles, required.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a small team to meet daily productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
  • Strong operational oversight skills to ensure consistent completion of assigned tasks and achievement of operational goals.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure a high level of batching and quality reviews.
  • Capability to train, onboard, cross-train, and coach team members to build proficiency and confidence.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Flexibility and problem-solving skills to adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as needed.

Location: This position is located in our Tempe, AZ Mailroom.
