Position Purpose and Objectives


The Data Operations Analyst supports production data operations and serves as a critical bridge between the data team and business stakeholders. This role ensures that production data pipelines, reporting systems, and operational analytics are reliable, accurate, and aligned with departmental performance goals. The position focuses on ongoing production operations support, data validation, pipeline monitoring, and operational analytics to enable scalable, trusted, and timely decision-making across the Credit Union. Major Duties and Essential Functions

  • Provide day-to-day production data operations support, ensuring stability, accuracy, and availability of data used in reporting and analytics.
  • Monitor the health, performance, and reliability of production data pipelines, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of data to reporting systems.
  • Validate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of production reports and dashboards, proactively identifying data quality issues before they impact decision-making.
  • Diagnose data issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with data engineers, data scientists, and data architects.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure reporting logic and data definitions align with business standards.
  • Implement automation, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between the data team and business units to ensure smooth data operations and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain operational documentation, data validation logic, monitoring procedures, and production support runbooks.
  • Track and report on operational metrics related to data availability, quality, timeliness, and incident resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data reliability, reporting processes, and operational scalability.
  • Communicate data risks, anomalies, and remediation status clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate advanced analytical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Ability to work unguided and independently in a production environment.

Requirements

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Advanced SQL experience with strong ability to query, validate, and troubleshoot large and complex datasets.
  • Power BI expertise, including production dashboard support, KPI validation, and report accuracy assurance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of production data pipelines, reporting systems, and analytics operations.
  • Ability to identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to make critical operational decisions related to data reliability and reporting accuracy.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

Minimum three to five years of experience in data analytics, data operations, reporting, or a related role supporting production data environments.
