About the Job

Russell Tobin is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Operations Analyst to support strategic initiatives, automation efforts, and day-to-day change management activities within a financial services environment. This role is ideal for professionals with 2โ€“5 years of experience in Asset Management Operations, Wealth Management, Client Reporting, Fund Administration, or related financial services functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support automation initiatives and reporting transformation efforts
  • Assist with strategic projects and change management activities
  • Document business requirements, operational processes, controls, and workflows
  • Identify manual processes and support opportunities for automation and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate project plans, action items, testing, and implementation activities
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), process documentation, and rollout communications
  • Coordinate with Operations, Technology, Product, and Business teams
  • Track project issues, risks, action items, and escalation items
  • Facilitate meetings, gather requirements, and follow up on outstanding action items
  • Provide operational support and assist with execution of strategic priorities
  • Analyze data sources and support reporting and data quality initiatives
  • Assist with reconciliation processes and data governance activities
  • Communicate project updates and changes to key stakeholders
  • Operate independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines


Qualifications

  • 2โ€“5 years of experience in Asset Management Operations, Wealth Management, Client Reporting, Fund Administration, or related financial services functions
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, controls, and data flows
  • Experience documenting business requirements and process workflows
  • Experience supporting process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
  • Pivot Tables
  • Power Query
  • Advanced formulas
  • Data analysis
  • Experience with reporting automation or data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Seismic, SmartDX, or similar platforms
  • Ability to analyze data sources and identify opportunities for process automation
  • Basic understanding of data governance, data quality, and reconciliation processes
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on reporting transformation, process automation, or operational excellence initiatives
  • Familiarity with alternative investments, fund reporting, or investor reporting processes
  • Familiarity with SQL or other data querying tools
