Job Description:
The Senior Manager of Data Architect (EDA) ensures Baker Tilly's enterprise data is standardized, secure, well modeled, and consumable, by defining and governing the firmwide data architecture across platforms and applications.
The EDA translates business outcomes into reference architectures, data models, integration patterns, and standards, and enforces compliance through design governance and lifecycle controls.
Responsibilities:
Standards & Governance
  • Own the enterprise data standards (naming, modeling, metadata, lineage, classification) and the authoritative data product definition; publish/maintain in Enterprise Architecture/Data Governance repositories.
  • Establish and chair data design reviews for analytics and application teams; enforce compliance pre-production and at change gates.

Architecture & Modeling
  • Define reference architectures (data lakehouse/warehouse, MDM/Golden Records, streaming, API-based data services) and canonical models for core domains (Client, Project, Engagement, People, Finance).
  • Author data integration patterns (batch/streaming, CDC, ELT/ETL) and quality/observability standards embedded in pipelines.

Platform & Application Integration
  • Set ingestion/promotion standards for analytics platform (e.g., landing - curated - consumer) and align with EA on system-of-record/source-of-truth and deprecation roadmaps (Workday, Salesforce, service line systems).
  • Service line solutions-including Tax, Assurance, Managed Services, Consulting, and Business Operations-are explicitly within the scope of the Enterprise Data Architect. The EDA ensures these solutions adhere to enterprise data standards and integrate seamlessly with the analytics platform and architecture guardrails.

Compliance & Risk Controls
  • In collaboration with Data Governance leadership, Encode data policy requirements (access, use, retention) into architecture artifacts; ensure DLP/privacy controls are traceable from policy - design - runtime.

Documentation & Lifecycle
  • Maintain architecture and environment documentation (diagrams, data dictionaries, lineage, RACI) and institute evergreen process for updates (e.g., access/requests, change control)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience
  • Data Analytics and Design. Experience working with technology leaders and stakeholders.
  • Optional skills include: Databricks, Snowflake design

The pay rate range for this job position is $176,670 to $267,950. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
