Job description

Key Responsibilities Data Governance & Oversight
  • Serve as the final approver for all new product/item requests and master data changes
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance policies, standards, and business rules
  • Maintain accountability for the quality, integrity, consistency, and accuracy of item master data
  • Act as the escalation point for complex data issues, governance exceptions, and process conflicts
  • Establish and maintain data standards, workflows, and governance procedures
Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Stewards and data management professionals
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development support
  • Oversee daily operational workflows and prioritize work assignments effectively
  • Ensure established SLAs and operational performance metrics are consistently achieved
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with IT, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Sales teams to align master data processes with business objectives
  • Develop and enhance enterprise data governance frameworks and best practices
  • Lead initiatives focused on improving data quality, operational efficiency, and process standardization
  • Define, monitor, and report on KPIs related to data quality, workflow performance, and governance compliance
  • Support enterprise transformation and digital modernization initiatives involving master data
Tools, Systems & Reporting
  • Collaborate on dashboards and reporting solutions to monitor data quality and team performance
  • Ensure effective utilization of MDM platforms and ERP systems to enforce governance standards
  • Support system enhancements, integrations, automation initiatives, and process optimization efforts
  • Utilize reporting and analytics tools to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Quality
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing data-focused teams
  • Hands-on experience managing Item/Product Master Data within ERP or MDM environments
  • Experience working with enterprise platforms such as:
    • SAP
    • Oracle
    • Informatica
    • Stibo
    • Other MDM/ERP systems
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of MDM principles, governance frameworks, and data quality best practices
  • Experience with SQL or similar querying/reporting tools
  • Familiarity with visualization and reporting platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Understanding of downstream business impacts related to Inventory, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, and POS systems
  • Experience supporting workflow optimization and process improvement initiatives
