Job description

Position Summary


The Brewhouse Assistant supports the Head Brewer in all aspects of beer production - from grain to glass. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced, and rewarding role that touches nearly every part of the brewing process, including cleaning, brewing, packaging, and maintenance. It's a great opportunity for someone passionate about craft beer and eager to learn the trade from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities
Brewing & Cellar Work

  • Assist with all stages of the brewing process, including milling, mashing, boiling, and fermentation.
  • Sanitize and prepare tanks, hoses, and fittings.
  • Help monitor fermentation, take gravity readings, and record data.
  • Assist with beer transfers, dry hopping, and carbonation.


Cleaning & Sanitation (Top Priority)

  • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness and safety in all brewing areas.
  • Perform or assist with tank and line cleaning (CIP).
  • Wash and sanitize kegs and other equipment.
  • Keep brewhouse, cellar, and storage areas organized and spotless.


Packaging & Logistics

  • Assist with canning, bottling, and kegging operations.
  • Wash, fill, and label kegs and cans.
  • Move finished product into cold storage and maintain inventory organization.
  • Occasionally help with deliveries or material handling.


Maintenance & General Support

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning.
  • Help with ingredient inventory, receiving shipments, and restocking supplies.
  • Support brewery events, festivals, and releases as needed.


Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to drug screen within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to lift and move 50-75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Comfortable working in hot, wet, and physically demanding environments.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Prior experience in a brewery or manufacturing setting is a plus, but not required.
  • Passion for craft beer and willingness to learn the brewing process.
