Background:
The Kirk Gibson Foundation, whose mission is to improve the quality of life of those living with Parkinson's through the development and delivery of activity-based programs, has recently opened the Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson's Wellness in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Funded and supported by the Foundation, the Center is the first of its kind in the state to offer daily programs and activities free of charge to people living with Parkinson's disease, their families and care partners. The Center also serves as a beacon of hope, help, and inspiration to those battling the disease, and will build a community of support and compassion while researching and developing better movement-based programs. Over 60,000 class hours will be offered each year.
Position Summary:
The Database and Development Operations Associate plays a critical role in advancing the organization's fundraising and stewardship efforts by managing donor data systems and ensuring a high-quality, donor-centered experience across all touchpoints. This position oversees the integrity and strategic use of the donor database, supports fundraising operations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management & Reporting
  • Manage and maintain the organization's donor database/CRM, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Establish and enforce data entry standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee gift processing, acknowledgments, and reconciliation in coordination with finance staff.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards to support fundraising strategy, donor retention, and leadership decision-making.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks related to donor engagement and revenue.
  • Manage database integrations with online giving platforms, email marketing tools, and other systems.

Development Operations Support
  • Support annual, major gifts, grants, events, and campaigns through data management and reporting.
  • Prepare donor lists, mailing files, and segmentation strategies.
  • Assist with moves management tracking and portfolio support for major gift efforts.
  • Document processes and provide training to staff on database use and donor data best practices.

Compliance & Best Practices
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws, ethical fundraising standards, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of donor information.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in nonprofit data management, donor experience, and fundraising technology.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit database management, development operations, or fundraising support.
  • Proficiency with donor CRMs (e.g. - Bloomerang, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred
  • Knowledge of fundraising metrics, donor lifecycle management, and moves management.
  • Advanced skills in reporting, data visualization.
