WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Loss Prevention Responsible, your main focus will be to drive the Loss Prevention strategy and execution within the Sales Market.

This hybrid role reports into our Security Manager and is based out of the New York Support Office.

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

  • Loss Prevention Strategy & Execution, Prevention & Detection Methods
  • Drive the implementation of loss prevention tools, training and awareness initiatives, methodologies and shrinkage reduction strategies across our operations
  • Analyze shrinkage reports, transaction data, and inventory discrepancies to detect and investigate internal, external, administrative losses and process weaknesses
  • Develop Loss Prevention Strategies based on risks and data
  • Conduct root-cause analysis, and provide actionable insights
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of loss prevention initiatives, identifying areas for continuous improvement
  • Partner with relevant internal stakeholders across the sales market (store operations, sales market leadership, etc.) to ensure consistent application of loss prevention policies and procedures, to create awareness around losses and to build a strong culture and accountability
  • Maintain high loss prevention standards and implement actions to reduce losses
  • Train and educate store staff and other relevant stakeholders on loss prevention awareness, security protocols, and incident reporting
  • Lead LP case management & reporting, investigations involving theft, fraud and communication with law enforcement
  • Prepare reports and KPIs, highlighting trends, risk areas, and improvement opportunities
  • Ambassador of the Loss Prevention Policy, as well for the development of LP standards
  • Adjust global LP standards, when necessary to comply with country laws and regulations
  • Manage LP/LD tools available (LPMS, KPIs, CCTV, shrinkage reports, etc.)
  • Utilize the SECURE LPMS system to analyze data, identify loss trends and patterns, and highlight gaps in routines that contribute to shrink, driving targeted actions to mitigate risk
  • Support ad hoc security responsibilities, including inventory processes, investigations, store audits or other related tasks
Qualifications

We are looking for people with...

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Security Management, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Certification in Loss Prevention, Risk Management, Retail Security are an advantage
  • 3-5 years of experience in loss prevention, security, or risk management - preferably within retail or fashion retail environments
  • Proven track record in reducing shrinkage and improving operational compliance
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management systems, and POS transaction analysis
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking, communication, training, and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Self-motivated, results driven, proactive, and capable of working independently
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and travel between locations
  • Ability to use MS Office & LP tools (LPMS, KPI dashboards, CCTV systems, shrinkage reports)
  • Experience in LP case management (fraud, investigations, handling authorities)
  • Proven experience in implementing LP strategies and using detection tools
  • Fluency in English and relevant local languages is mandatory (written/verbal)
