They monitor data quality, identify and resolve inconsistencies or errors, and implement processes to maintain high data standards. Data Integrity Analysts often work closely with IT, data management, and business teams to develop and enforce data governance policies. Their role is essential for organizations that rely on accurate data for decision-making, compliance, and operational efficiency.

What does a data integrity analyst do?

Data integrity analysts manage the security of their company’s data. As a data integrity analyst, you monitor access to information, ensuring that files are only viewed by those authorized to utilize them and that the data is used properly. You also regularly check that the firewall and security systems at the company are up-to-date and still effective in preventing security breaches. Data integrity analysts may work in an office or technical center and must be willing to hold employees accountable for any infractions against data policy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a data integrity analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Integrity Analyst, you need strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a background in data management or information systems, often supported by a relevant degree. Proficiency with database management systems (such as SQL), data quality tools, and knowledge of data governance frameworks is typically required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills help analysts effectively identify and resolve data discrepancies. These skills ensure the reliability and accuracy of data, which is critical for informed decision-making and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Data Integrity Analysts often work closely with IT, data engineering, and business operations teams to ensure that data remains accurate, consistent, and secure throughout its lifecycle. They participate in regular meetings to discuss data quality issues, share findings from audits, and recommend process improvements. Effective communication skills are essential, as analysts frequently translate technical data integrity concepts for non-technical stakeholders and help implement best practices across departments.

SR. PLATFORM INTEGRITY ANALYST (STARLINK)

At SpaceX, we are committed to ensuring the service remains a force for good and sustains trust worldwide: both connecting the unconnected and executing thorough processes to detect and prevent misuse by illicit operators. We are looking for an experienced Sr. Platform Integrity Analyst, known internally as Sr. Customer Integrity & Threat Detection Analyst to detect, disrupt, and investigate potential misuse of the service—including proactively combating and deterring illicit operators. This person must strike the careful balance of safeguarding customer information and privacy while applying enforcement measures and executing with an even‑handed approach, avoiding overreach and disproportionate collateral impacts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Proactively identify and assess platform integrity and abuse risks
  • Develop technical detection and mitigation strategies
  • React to investigate potential issues such as scams, fraud, and illicit goods/activities
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams and deepen our relationships with them
  • Conduct periodic reviews to support legal and compliance obligations
  • Execute with consideration for customer privacy, targeting activities of indisputable harm and avoiding overreach
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations; OR 6+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations in lieu of a degree
  • 4+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS), and/or statistical software (e.g., R)
  • 4+ years of experience investigating, mitigating, or dealing with illicit operators (e.g., fraud, abuse, cybersecurity, or other illicit activities)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong analytical research and communication skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills
  • International professional exposure (e.g., working abroad or on global initiatives/businesses)
  • Experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or vulnerability assessment in high‑stakes environments
  • Experience with research and intelligence analytic techniques, including open‑source intelligence (OSINT) data techniques
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international economic sanctions and export control laws and regulations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel as needed for business (15%)
  • This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite—remote work not considered
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
